PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND STATUS

The Lincoln County Transportation Plan is being conducted under the collaborative sponsorship of eight local entities; Lincoln County, Kimama Highway District, Dietrich Highway District, Shoshone Highway District, Richfield Highway District and the cities of Dietrich, Shoshone and Richfield (the Sponsors).

The purpose of the planning process is to understand, plan for and guide improvements for the overall system and the individual jurisdictions to meet system and user needs over the next 20 years.

With funding assistance from the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC) and administration by the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), the Sponsors have contracted with Riedesel & Associates to lead a planning team to complete the transportation study. The steps in the process are shown below. The resulting plan will provide guidance and justification for funding requests to support implementation of the Plan’s project recommendations.
