Experience

Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport

This project was divided into two engineering phases. The first phase was a feasibility study including a geotechncal study for the 1,000 foot extension of the safety area to Runway 8, and the removal of earth and rock which penetrated the Part 77 Obstacle Free Area (OFA). The extension of the safety area required the filling of a small canyon leading into the Snake River (2,000,000 cubic yards of the fill at a maximum fill height of approximately 200 feet). The project also needed to relocate the access (City/County) road either through a tunnel or around the fill. The City chose to relocate the road around the fill.
