CITY OF CHALLIS
2005 SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT
OWNER - City of Challis , Idaho .
Separate sealed BIDS for the City of Challis 2005 Sewer Extension Project located at the Challis Airport , consisting of, but not limited to, the following:
1800 linear feet of 8-inch sewer line
6 manholes
and other related work will be received by the Owner at the office of the City Clerk, located at City Hall, 211 Main St., P.O. Box 587 , Challis , Idaho 83226 , until 2:00 o'clock p.m. , prevailing local time, September 1, 2005 , and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The Contract Documents, Plans, and Exhibits may be examined at the following:

Copies may be obtained at the office of the ENGINEER located at 202 Falls Avenue, Twin Falls , Idaho 83301 , upon payment of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for each set. Payment is to be made to Riedesel & Associates, Inc. A $25.00 shipping charge, non-refundable, will be assessed on all mailed plans.
Any Bidder, upon returning such set within thirty (30) days in good condition, will be refunded his/her payment, and any non-bidder upon so returning such a set will be refunded Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Subcontractors and suppliers will be considered Bidders if they provide a copy to the Engineer of their quote to a Bidder.
A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project.
No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The award of the contract is subject to approval of the City of Challis .
Each Bidder must supply all the information required by the Bid Documents and Specifications.
In determining the lowest responsive bid, the Owner will consider all acceptable bids on a basis consistent with the Contract Documents. The Owner will also consider whether the bidder is a responsible bidder.
Before a contract will be awarded for work contemplated herein, the Owner will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the bidder shall submit such information as deemed necessary by the Owner to evaluate the bidder’s qualifications.
All bids must be signed and accompanied by evidence of authority to sign.
Bids must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of either a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check or cash in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid proposal. Said bid security shall be forfeited to City of Twin Falls as liquidated damages should the successful bidder fail to enter into contract in accordance with their proposal as specified in the Instructions to Bidders .
City of Challis reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive any nonmaterial irregularities in the bids received, and to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the best interest of City of Challis .
